BUTTERWORTH July 25 - The Barisan Nasional (BN) Penang DAP-led state government's request in order to simplify the approval procedures in the construction of low and medium cost houses conducted by the federal government.



BN Deputy Chairman of State Committee, Datuk Zainal Abidin Osman, said the state government created a number of bureaucratic red tape often causing disruption of the process of building the house.



"The state government should not impose a variety of conditions and the bureaucratic burden because it will harm people," he told reporters after a friendly survey Butterworth BN in Parliament in the Public Market Garden I, here, today.



Zainal Abidin, who is also Chairman of the Penang Umno Liaison Body, said the application to build affordable housing by central government agencies should be referred to a One Stop Agency (OSA) which is chaired by State Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng as well as require the approval of the Local Authority (PBT).
